Let’s talk about how God’s character, God being our light and salvation, helps us not to fear in day 7 of the courage challenge.
Whom shall I fear?
We’re getting into the Psalms verses and I’m so excited. This is one of those verses we may be tempted to gloss over. But let’s sit down and really let these words sink in:
There are three main attributes of God to focus on: light, salvation, stronghold. While they may not be attributes, or even words, common in our vocabulary, let’s spend some time on each of them.
Light. Illuminating, banishing the darkness, guiding the way. God is light, and in Him is no darkness. This is so encouraging as we move forward in our lives to remind us that God will never be dim or dark in any way.
Salvation. Simple, yet profound. God is the one who saves us. Not our works or our effort or the prayer we prayed. God Himself.
Stronghold. When nothing else is certain or reliable, God is. We can run to Him and find safety and security.
Courage in real life
I have a friend going through a personal loss and yet she’s still reaching out to others, thinking of and praying for them. I find it so easy to get caught up in my own stuff and am so grateful for courageous women who consistently consider others.
